Wheatie is an abstract digital painting done on my iPad 2 in the art rage app. I like the app for its traditional art replication, but there is a little glitch I keep getting involving the oils brush. Whenever I try to work quickly with it, it will create tiny dots rather than small strokes. Really takes me out of the experience, so I tried to use the other categories. It was fun and the app has a lot of potential. I have used the full art rage from version 1 on my old tablet pc from hp until version 3 or whatever the current one is. I like their philosophy on making quality art program for a low price. Also they are a niche company not like Corel and adobe which are too spread out in different types of programs. But I still tend to stick with Corel painter because their program seems more professional or polished to me. I can't wait for Corel to come out with a great painting app on the iPad. I think their low end painting program would be best for the iPad but it costs way too much and is probably too intensive on the hardware for the iPad. I forget the name of it but it sounds like brushes or something similar.

All three of these were started off the same basic sketch that I did and were all done in corel painter 12.. My thoughts about making all digital art are to make it as much like a traditional painting as possible.. This is a self portrait of me.. Wish I could have spent more time on it.. This was done over the course of three weeks and I spent about 3-8 hours altogether on it. I may touch it up some more. That was a fun class because my grades were pretty good throughout it.. This one could’ve been better, but I had fun and liked doing another self-portrait

This is acrylic on canvas about 24 by 36 inches.. My thought is that it is a spiritual quest .. The fear and monster like aspect of the central figure is honored and worshipped in a way by most people .. The ego gets in the way and we honor it. We fear our spiritual enlightenment which is signified by the eagle which has always been a symbol of the spiritual quest for me.. Comments? thanks for looking:)
